Biography
Sooyong Kim is a licensed massage therapist and gifted, intuitive practitioner who creates space and combines several modalities in her practice for her clients’ healing.
She runs her practice in Takoma Park, MD, and believes that every single person has the capacity to heal.
In 1998, Sooyong graduated from the Ohashi Institute in New York City and completed her third-level Reiki training. She has studied Craniosacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release with the Upledger Institute, Vita Flex, Raindrop Therapy, Spiritual Healing, Zero Balancing, SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique), and has had extensive experience in the martial arts, including Tang Soo Do, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Aikido and Qigong.
Sooyong grew up in South Korea, Malaysia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She worked in the corporate world in New York City after obtaining a BA in comparative literature and certificate in European Cultural Studies from Princeton University.
After experiencing a call to the healing arts, she studied at the Ohashi Institute, and eventually moved to the Washington, D.C. area.
A facilitator of workshops on Energy Healing, Laughter (Get in Touch with Your Inner Wisdom through Laughter), and Shiatsu, Sooyong continues to study the healing arts, believing that she is on a lifelong path of learning and discovery.
In August 2021, Sooyong won an Honorable Mention from Hay House for a book proposal titled “Immigrant Consciousness Healing for Beginners: How to live a happier more fulfilling life by identifying, healing, and transforming immigrant consciousness issues.”
She is continuing to work on the book and is releasing monthly previews of the book’s chapters throughout 2023.
